I have a 6mm cable T&E from the main house board to a consumer unit in an extension. I want to power an electric oven and hob from this as well as a 13amp ring main for general use. Can anybody offer some advice please?

As a cooker should be wired with 6 mm sq alone, and the ring main in 2.5 mm sq (and, as it's a ring, that equates to 5 mm sq), you should really power the consumer unit with at least 10 mm sq.
