I have a downstairs toilet whose walls are painted in Artex. How do I paint over this?

At B& Q you can buy a 'smoothing' paint made by someone like Polycell it's very thick and you put in on with a spreader rather than a brush. Sorry I can't be more specific but I noticed on the shelf next to the basecoat but didn't pay 100% attention
i had the same problem and after a bit of messing about i found it cheaper and much nicer to get a plasterer to skim over the artex and then you have lovely new flat walls. the guy did it for 75 cash.
paint the same as you would an artexed ceiling-emulsion.
