what can be done when heavy rain has flattened the plant still in the flowering season

I would learn from this for next year. I always anticipate bad weather and put some kind of a grid over plants so that as they grow they come up through the grid thus giving them support. In the meantime, you could use some short bamboo sticks to encircle the lily, and use green gardening twine to gather up the flattened leaves. It will look awful for about a week but as the pant continues to grow it will cover the sticks and you will have an invisible means of support.
