Hello, i've got a problem with one of my radiator's - it's in the hallway, it's a 1200mm x 600mm double convector brand new, running off a halstead ace he 30 kw combi. 1 of the copper pipes ( the flow i think?) gets very hot while the other pipe (return?) takes a long time to get anywhere near as hot, the rad isn't kicking much heat out though, i've tried venting it but no joy, this rad was tapped into the original pipework of the house ,the other rads in the house are ok any advice please because i can't really get to the pipework as it's under the floor which is above the hallway - i'm guessing the pipework t's off to the rad in the bedroom then down the wall to the rad in the hall - any info greatly appreciated, thank's, Mark.

Have you checked the valve(return ?) on the other end of the rad.Try opening it 1/4 turn, wait for at least 1 hour and if still not heating up repeat the process.
if the flow is hot but the return isn't then its almost certainly down to the return flow valve being shut off (this is the valve that has the smooth cap on it rather than the one with the numbered thermostatic head or one with the finger grip on it. you will need to take out the screw, remove the cap and then open it up with pliers, you wont need to wait an hr, the radiator should get hot in minutes if thats what the problem was.
