Me again!, do you use paint rollers more than once?, I always seem to emulsion a room then go through the effort of cleaning the roller but when I come to using again I always think it looks too shabby and end up buying a new one! Also, what's the best way to care for a brush after glossing?, should I clean it with white spirits and then just leave to dry naturally?

If the job you are doing takes more than one day don't clean your brushes or rollers until you have finished. At the end of the day wrap them in cling film. They can be used straight away the next day or two. When you finish job clean oil based paint (gloss) off with turps then wash well in washing up liquid. A good rinse in clean then dry naturally. For water base paints just use water and washing up liquid.
As this saves buying new ones each time more expensive brushes / rollers can be used resulting in better finishes.
I always clean brushes in white spirit if its gloss paint and then wash them in hot soapy water. Finally rinse them with some clothes conditioner and they keep soft. I have had the same paintbrushes for several years now.
If you've been using your roller for emulsioning walls, after washing it thoroughly in warm soapy water and then rinsing it in clean water, try a final rinse with a small amount of Comfort or other laundering softener in the water. This will help prevent that rough surface to it when it dries which always makes it look as if it's not fit for use again.
