Matt Or Vynil Emulsion In A Bathroom.
I know that vynil or silk emuilsion is usually recommended for bathroom walls and ceilings but I would prefer a matt finish. Any reason why not ?

I would go fora vinal finish after sealing new plaster with a mist coat I.e. 20% emulsion with water but best check out at this site

It used to be about what would do best in a steamy atmosphere. Nowadays you can get matt kitchen and bathroom paint.

The best type of paint or a bathroom or kitchen is egg shell finish this is a hard wearing matt finish that is tougher than water based emulsion paint , and can be lightly scrubbed to remove marks.
Any reputable paint shop that can mix paint can mix eggshell finish to whatever colour you want, you should be able to buy white eggshell finish off the shelf, but you might have to try more than one store as you don't see it as often as you did in the past.
Don't be conned by paint described as special kitchen / bathroom paint or steam resistant paint, it is only eggshell finish under a different name and costs twice or three times what eggshell finish costs.
