Scotch guarding trainers

Can you use the Scotch guard spray to water proof your trainers
particularly the breathable running type as I am getting wet feet in
the rainy weather?

They will make them "showerproof" and protect the fabric but wont make them waterproof in that your feet will stay dry

My running trainers have honeycomb type weave over the toes so it wouldn't work where the holes are.
