curly extension lead

I have an electrical extension lead that has a broken plug. the lead is orange and curls like a telephphone cord, a plug at one end and a socket at the other. takes up no space at all and really easy to store. Does anyone know what it is called and where I can buy another?

These seem to have fallen out of favour for some reason. Have you tried local hardware shops.

t. Thanks Gingejbee. Why didn't I think of that. Prat. And in relation to safety, it seems to have been safe enough for the last 18 years.
A good quality 13 Amp coiled extension lead is not a hazard. They are much safer than the extension-on-a-reel idea which can overheat if used on the reel.

The last one I bought came from a local independent hardware store. Haven't noticed one recently in B&Q or Homebase.

I have found that going into your local independent hardware store and ordering something (paid in advance) is so much simpler than trawling the shelves of the superstores. Take the old one so they know what to get.
