How much hassle is it to change 1 radiator?

Is it a 'handyman' job or do I need a plumber who will want to drain down the system ect?

Really need it done but cant be bothered with the hassle.

You should be able to isolate a radiator and remove it without the water coming out of the pipes.

However you will need a radiator of exactly the same size to fit between the existing pipes.

Also if the radiator has different fittings on the back you will need different brackets on the wall to "hang" the radiator off.

If you are not happy with doing all that get someone in.

Thanks VHG, I wont do it myself , just trying to work out who to call. Dont want to pay out silly money for a plumber when a handyman will do!
Why are you wanting to change 1 radiator?
Handyman job definitely Millie. As VHG says, it must be either the same length or shorter (extension fittings are easily available.)

Thanks for your answers, that helpful, Howard, I need to change it as noticed it leeking and on closer inspection see there is some rust there so probably best to replace it rather than repair it.
handyman job, much cheaper. most rads are interchangeable, B&Q do some at cheap prices in most sizes.

Try and find out where the leak is from, if from a joint it may just need tightening up. Most radiators ve a little surface rust somewhere, it doesn't mean they are leaking.
