Nuaire Genie Fan - Help Please!

Hi
It's me again! Some months ago I asked a question and Builders Mate was very helpful - but I still have a problem.

I Have a Genie-X Nuaire 'trickle down' bathroom fan in my wetroom of my newbuild apartment. When I first had it it was whisper quiet on the trickle mode increasing in speed when I switched on the bathroom light and then going back to trickle when I switch off the light. Which Nuaire says is correct.

Over the last few months it has got worse in that it is running faster than normal on trickle which keeps me awake at nights.

I called in an electrician as I was told by Nuaire that there was an adjustment which could be made to the fan speed on trickle - but he could not find how to do it! Taking the cover off the fan you can see a white plastic piece to the right of the end of the fan and there is a small hole in it which looks like it houses an adjustment screw, but he says there is no screw there to adjust! He did not remove the module as he knew nothing about fans and did not want to unclip and remove it - could it be behind there?

All the other apartments with the same model fans are working as normal. Any ideas anyone how I can solve this problem?

Thanks everyone

This subject cropped up last year. Have a look at this:

Oh, I've just noticed that it was you who asked the earlier question, moggie 939. Sorry about that.
Hi Moggie. Well I've had a look at the technical literature. They mention the overrun time adjustment, but no reference to trickle speed. I can only guess it's on the control module. These modules are interchangeable, so it should be easy enough to unclip it for a look.

Thanks 'The Builder'

That is what I told the leccy. The contractors for the building (120 months old) are going to have a look.
Will keep this site informed.

Thanks again
