Will a 5 kva generator be ok to run a 130 amp inverter welder

The match looks good... but that depends on a couple of factors. If the inverter welder is a Chinese manufacture, the electrical curcuitry is often not up to the fluctuations experienced in generator produced power. Not to knock them, but they are cheaper by quite a bit. The inverter is newer generation rather than the older transformer...

But to your original question, you should be Ok. Got a good automatic helmet, no?

been looking at clarkes range ,and no i havent got an automatic helmet.

I should have mentioned that I'm in the U.S. and the information I have is that Clarke is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy (reorganization) here. A friend did tell me that he thought Clarke in the UK was still going however. I do know that parts for the Clarke are kinda hard to come by here. You might want to check it out... (I understand they're made in Italy).

In the mean time, if your serious about Mig or Tig or stick welding, buy yourself an automatic helmet... it'll improve your welding results 50% at least... fantastic...
