both are absolute ballcocks!!
A door stop and wonky table leg levellers...
Hi Society, no I don't think there are any truths in either. I'll bet if you had your cards read by two different people, one ater the other, the results would be different. As for the crystal ball ........ what's that all about? Mysticism which equals superstition.
I'm convinced that they are a channel through which psychics and mystics contact the superverse by concentrating the natural forces through their deluded heads. We all have to make a living, what else would they do.
The purpose of a 'crystal ball' is not that the ball itself is anything special, you can use pinpoint of light, a bowl of water or indeed nothign at all- it's simply a focal point to make gaining alpha state easier.... not quite sure why I'm putting myself through what will follow- but there you are.

I've actually had my cards read by two different people, years apart from each reading and they both said the same things. The things that they said no one could have known except me. Also, the 'card spreads' were different. This sort of makes me think 'what if there might be something to the Tarot', and left me questioning.
Society.. it's left me questioning too.

I know nothing about crystal balls except for what I saw in movies.
I welcome all your post / opinions, good and humorous too, which will give me some insight and understanding of them.
But were the things these people said specific only to you - or could they have applied to other people in some way too? Really think about that. As an example if someone said you've been unwell, that could apply to absolutely anyone.
Question Author
Yes Naomi, they were specifically about me and my life's 'situation'. I'm tempted to post them on here but dare not 'cause some folk use the things you post on here as bait to attack you, and make you ever regret posting.

This has encouraged me to take up an interest in learning to read the Tarot. Soon as I feel confident I'll be giving free readings. So who will be first in line? :-)
me !
The Tarot is a very old form of fortune telling and thought to be brought from India by roaming gypsy tribes around medieval times. They were a form of entertainment for Royalty at one time. The meaning of the cards have changed somewhat to cover the modern artifices e.g car travel, tv, internet mobile phones etc .
The interpretation of the cards is of course down to the skill and knowledge of the cards by the reader.
Where's Waldo?
is there anybody there? ...x
society... just try with an open mind you won't know if you have the 'gift' until you do..

I have used them for years..and I know I have had the P taken out of me mercilessly (on here and on SAB especially by a certain gentleman ) for posting about it...but I don't take money for readings and if I can't 'sense' anything or they are unclear I will tell people rather than make stuff up.. I also have a crystal ball used only for meditation
Only do readings for people when they are actually present...won't do phone or online work as I need to know if someone is becoming frightened, anxious or upset so I can stop and explain the possible meanings. You can also play a very complicated and entertaining game with them called Tarocco so if you don't master the fortune telling learn the game and teach a few friends
I think they should have some sort of governing body lol

Thanks Rowan for that; you input is much appreciated, and is very encouraging with my Tarot endeavour. My work colleagues always comments 'you must be psychic!'
I always seem to 'hit the nail on the head.' :-)

Work with it then....sometimes you will get meanings that are not in the books come into your head....if they sit within the scope of the suit itself the instinct may be a good one...Don't believe all the superstition around having to be given them not buy your own etc...just find a pack that you feel comfortable with I like the Rider Waite pack but there are some lovely ones with good images that help you get a feel for the main meanings much quicker good luick
