does anyone know what it is called when in the ancient years of medicine they drilled a hole in the patients head? I know it begins with a T

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy
It is called Trepanning and has been practised since the Stone Age. It was thought that drilling a hole in the head would release the evil spirit within which was causing the ailment.
