I have a vase that has been in the family for many years, would any one know what pottery it came from and how valuable it might be? It has a white background with lilac figures identicle to the portland vase, it has a lion and unicorn on the bottom with the number 117, its very pretty and stands the same size as the portland vase...

The original of the vase is in the British Museum, and has survived being smashed by a madman

acquired 1815 I think

very popular neo classical design

Wedgwood I think was the one that popularised it

Early versions 1815-1820 are as you can imagine reasonably valuable

those made in the 1970s less so
