Albert Speer
Nice try, Inky, but Speer didn't die until September 1981, and it is arguable as to how much of a Fuhrer he was. (Source of date: most sites thrown up on a Google search).
Oddly enough I got 1980 from a late edition of his Autobiography. Mind you this was largely fibs.....Though I bow to google, of course. Any other suggestions? Actual Fuhrers were few and far between....candidates that could be reasonably called this would be: Hitler, Goering, Himmler (these last two could be seen as getting the title after AH copped it) Doenitz (signed the surrender) Speer and Hess. Oh and Martin Bormann. The closest to 1980 out of all of these has to be Speer, with Hess a close second. I don't think Martin Bormann was ever found was he? or did one of those gene tests they did on South American graves turn him up?
I would have thought, old inky one, that the date of one's death from an AUTObiography would be reasonably unreliable. Why doesn't magicdave rate our thoughtful responses?
