The Blue Riband record was just under 6 days for the Deutschland but most sailings would have taken a day or two longer. The Blue Riband reords were measured from point to point but didn't include the initial and final stages of the voyage so excluded problems like waiting for a favourable tide, pilots, tugs etc.
