Tuskegee Institute now called Tuskegee University did an oral interview with Annie Lou Miller in 1973. She stated that her grand mother Bama Carlis sold Booker T. Washington the first 80 acres of land. It went from the lincoln gates back to John Andrew hospital and across over to Dr. Foster's house. The Carlis bought it from a jewish man. It's a very intresting oral history interview. If you get a chance read it.
