Yes - par boil them, then stick them in the oven in a bit of water so that they don't stick to the dish or baking tray. Add a drizzle of honey and oil - voila!
If you want, you can transfer them to the meat dish at the end, and cook all together. x
Here's another way of doing them:- Peel them, trim off the tops and tails, then cut them in half lengthways and then cut out the woody heart (a v-notch shape should work). Then place them (raw) in hot olive oil, spoon hot oil over the tops and roast in the oven until golden brown (about 25-30 minutes). The removal of the bitter woody heart means they are a lot sweeter and quicker to cook so I don't need to parboil first or add honey. I only learnt this tip a few months ago and didn't believe it would work - until I tried it, lol
I don't par boil mine either. Peel and cut in quarters lengthways, put in hot oil in roasting dish, drizzle maple syrup over them then dot all over with butter. Enjoy.
Par boil them with the spuds ..then ratttle
them in the saucepan ..add some olive oil
and put them in to a hot oven in a tray that
has a drizzle of oil in it ..cook for 20+mins
..enjoy ...
I don't par boil mine either. And I like valerieb's maple syrup idea. Try roasting sweet potatoes as well, they way you would with parsnips
4getmenot - you can now have great fun testing out all the different ways of roasting your parsnips now lol (when are you inviting us around for the taste test ?)
I do mine exactly the same way as theonlyone!

I certainly did not know about the wooden heart!

I will try that next time!!
Aunty Bessie prepares mine and all I have to do is put them in the oven.... yumm!
I dont par boil them - I just put them in a roasting tin with a spoonful of stock from whatever meat I'm cooking and it turns out gorgeous!
Yes i par boil them, drizzle some honey on them leave them for 20 mins then i roast them for about half hour,i even have to do them for neighbours cos there so yummy
no, i dont par boil mine either just peel, cut length ways and pop into hot olive oil.
I find you lose a lot of flavour if you parboil.
I parboil mine then toss them in seasoned flour and finely grated parmesan and roast them in a very little oil of your choice. I use rice bran or olive oil. They are lovely and crispy.
Don't peel or par boil mine. Scrub under tap, cut length ways into quarters, drizzle with good olive oil, ground black pepper and sea salt. Roast in top of oven, tossing occasionally. Bish-bosh as they say.
