have you not had any course material on this ? Surely you should have been doing the research and reading up on it. have you looked in google scholar ?

I could fully answer this for you but it is obviously part of your course work - so find out for yourself; you will learn more.
Hang on a mo, I'll just go & ask Dad - he was there with 1st Airborne. On second thoughts he probably couldn't care less. He's probably just glad he was one of the 20% who got back - and so am I. I was born at the end of June 1945 - & I don't need help to work that one out!
