The first edition of the magazine was published in 1979 according to this site -
http://www.abebooks.co.uk/Yesteryear-Transport-1-Arthur-Nicklin-Ian/1370952901/bd

It was still being published in Autumn 1982 according to this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yesteryear-Transport-Magazine-number-14-Autumn-1982-/280612997986

You may be able to find your answer here http://www.ianallanpublishing.com/

Possibly published until 2013, don’t know how reliable this site is http://trove.nla.gov.au/work/34315626?q&versionId=42318161
I can't guarantee a precise figure but looking at the records of the British Library and the London Transport Museum, together with the magazines offered for sale on Abebooks, suggests that it was published quarterly with the first issue appearing in July 1979 and the final one in October 1982, making 14 issues in all. (One bookseller refers to issue 14 as being 'Autumn 1982'. There are no later issues offered for sale and the London Transport Museum's holdings only show '1979 to 1982', so it seems likely that there were just 14 issues).
