Is there any way of finding information not by name but by inputting a Piece No. in Ancestry?

The default screen you see is for the 1911 Collection. If you click on, for example, '1911 England', you get another screen which lets you specify more precisely what you want to search on, including 'piece'.
Alternatively if you have the address it's very easy to look-up on FMP.
a piece number will give you a vast number of sub-districts to search , but i guess that is how we used to have to do it ! Used to spend hours winding through the old 35mm reels .
