I am just wondering what people think would be gained from the recent enquiries about Jimmy Saville.
Do people expect to be able to sue the beneficiaries of his estate for compensation?.

have you been reading about the subject recently or just glancing at the headlines?
no i wouldn't think so. I believe for some it is to get closure, or to be vindicated as they may well have told someone years ago, but were not believed
I don't think it's about money. I think it's more to do with these poor girls letting the truth me known, now they feel they're able to do so.

He is/was a monster!
And some want him stripped of his knighthood.
Be known

Jimmy Saville is not there to defend himself now so he could not get a fair trial.
I've just read his family are removing his gravestone.
I'm not saying these women are making it up but surely out of all of them, some would have come forward while he was still alive !
It must be a tremendous relief for these people to be believed at last, after years of being scorned.

He didn't just abuse these children, he abused his power to suppress any of it coming out.
They did. They weren't believed.

They were kids, for gods sake!
As Canary says, I'm sure they felt a huge sigh of relief when he passed away, and they were finally able to speak - and be heard.
Some did come forward while he was alive.
They might have been kids when it 'happened' but they have had years to come forward. Also one of them was 14 when she willingly went off with him. He isn't here to defend himself so it's not fair that we should presume they are all telling the truth.
You think they are all lying?

I hope anybody who damages any gravestone gets 50 years in jail with hard labour and double work on Christmas day.
I could care less about his gravestone, it's a shame he didn't get 50 years hard labour, the disgusting perv.
^^^^glancing at the headlines I think dot
I don't know ! Just giving my opinion, that's all. It's always the same when a celebrity dies and stories start escalating.
This is a man who the met police have described as a predatory sex offender who abused girls on a national scale. This is a man who the Met believe abused at least 25 young girls.

It is very much in the public interest to explore these claims, and to better understand how such a predator was able to persue his own predilictions with, it seems, total impunity.

And all you worry about is that this is the work of some opportunist women looking for some compo? I would suggest you may wish to re-evaluate your priorities.....
Yes, there will be some bandwagonners, but equally there are probably many who still won't come forward, being very much private persons.
