I din't know it had a particular name?
Chequers? :)
anyone in mind, celtic?
bridewell?
Bridewell
Does the clue ask for the name FOR or the name OF- i.e are we looking for the name of one such institution or a term used to for such institutions?
Holloway Prison has been female only for at least 100 years, but i don't think there was a designated goal for women who committed adultery, except perhaps the asylums that abounded, which would lock women away for having a child out of wedlock.
not according to this, it was a mixed prison.

disorderly usually meant drunk. It doesn't say adulterous.
