It happened before the American Revolution. So it is a precursor.
Other than that I can find no points of comparison.

You might like to consider that both occurred as a result of the refusal of the monarch to cede to the will of the representatives of the people.

Or how was the English revolution a precurser to the Glorious revolution. Throughout history bagbug revolutions have inspired other revolutions. US, French, Europe & Russian all have proved to be inspirational
