FAO Paddywak Chicken run

A local family told me that at one time that pier was covered overhead with a sort of chicken wire, reason not known and this is why it was nicknamed chicken run. Ive put a letter in the local paper to ask if anyone knows the reason but it has not yet appeared. Will keep you informed

Burston, thanks for the info and for trying to find out the reason for me. As i said my friends and I have been going fishing to Brid for years and this subject has often come up, and we've never had a plausable explaination

When you next come fishing in Brid, ask one of the local fishermen. A lot of their families goes way back and they could well know the answer as this sort of info is often passed down.
