hi i have been trying for such a long time to get information on raf scofton/worksop (it was known as both) during 1955 as my birth mum met my father there when he was training to be a fighter pilot, he was from overseas, my birth mum spoke of him as french but my uncle said he was definatly syrian. know it was known at that time as no 211 flying training school flying meteors. apparently all the oversea pilots disapeared back over night around the time of the suez war and just to find someone who served there at that time would be so good but have had no luck, tried various raf sites and forums but always hit a brick wall maybe i should give up after all this time but not knowing anything about him hurts, i know he may not be alive now but just to speak with someone from that base at that time would help. not in touch with birth mum anymore and she told me very little anyway so just a thought coming on here as a last resort.
