Hi I am trying to find a marriage certificate for someone who was married at St George's, Hanover Square, London in 1884. I emailed the parish at WWW.westminster.gov.uk and they replied back "I have checked the marriage register of St George's Hanover Square for the whole of July, August and September 1884 but I could not find the above marriage. St George's could be the district rather than the parish, in which case you would need to check quite a few parishes for the record of the marriage."

Can anybody be of help?

Thanks

Have a look at freebmd.org.uk

If you use their search facility, you can search for marriage records by surname (of either party), year and quarter

That give you a reference number for ordering the certificate
