I'm trying to find the marriage date and the maiden name of the wife of Edward Litherland born April 1749. I think they married in 1774 the children of the marriage were born in Packington (leicester) or otherwise Appleby Magna.

Thanks dotty, I had Mary written in faintly but couldn't find the source. But now I've looked for the children I have listed from familysearch, the mother is named Mary and they were born in Packington.

The only one I can see is a marriage in 1776 to Mary Litherland. Edward is shown as being born in 1749 and dying in 1826.

Thanks craft, that must be them, I was looking for her maiden name but can't see any marriage records for them.

According to IGI Mary was born in 1755 and died 12/04/1808

I think her maiden name was Litherland...................a Mary Litherland was christened on 08/03/1760 in Appleby Magna, daughter of William Litherland and Elizabeth.

Yes Mary b 1760 was the daughter of William Litherland and Elizabeth Smith? (not sure of her maiden name either), and the sister of the Edward and Mary in question.

Apparently..Edward Litherland married Mary Adams 18.08.1774 at newton regis..witnesses John Streaton and Sarah newbold

between 1774-1792 they had five children.

Mary died 1808

Edward married Mary nixon 22.10.1814 at Packington...

I say apparently because i haven't checked it!!

That's great craft, Edward and Mary did have five children. I think I have him sewn up now, he must have been 65 when he married again. Thanks very much.
