GTA 4 on Xbox 360

Hi,

I have GTA4 for the Xbox 360.
I am able to hail the cabs in the came by pressing LB, but when I press Y to get in, Niko always car jacks the taxi instead of getting in as a passenger. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Any help would be great

Hold down Y for a few seconds instead of briefly pressing it.

I think you have to hold Y button instead of pressing it. Similar issues for RED DEAD REDEMPTION

I went through a period of hi jacking the cabs when i actually wanted to get a taxi ride, i found if you wait for the Y to show then hold Y and you should get a ride
