Not Impressed With Google Books

I have a samsung galaxy tab S 10.5 with google books installed, everytime I switch off my device and say im on page 100 of a book, I go back into it and it stays on the page I started on, on the page I have finished on? does anyone else have this problem, also it never syncs with my samsung phone either.
