What to Get?!
Hello there! Im a big console gamer but i have bought myself a new Laptop and was thinking about trying a few on-line games on there to see what they are like as they are supposed to be better? I love Battlefield on the 360 and it is my favourite game but i see the Pc has loads of different styles on offer , can anyone suggest which one is the best or other similar games that i could try out , theres so much more choice im confused!!

What are you chatting about? Your the one who got screwed over by some rookie Comet assistant who saw you coming from miles away! He saw you get out of your "M" reg Nissan primera wearing your Wifes leather gloves. You got sucked in for a crap lap top by "benjamin" the work experience kid, taken on full time out of sympathy ,who was days away from his P45, and your crazy purchase saved him from a career stacking shelves in your local Tesco. So really all you've done sooper... is save a young lad from being sacked. Oh, and bought a crap lap top that by this time next year will be as powerfull as a kitten sleeping. Well done sooper. Next time take criticism on the chin rather than slating people who just try and help you.

Sooper !! I think the bottom line here is that you didnt have a clue about machines or hardware spec when you originally posted this question. Hence the reason why you posted the question. If you have such a vast knowledge of your machine and gaming then you wouldnt need to ask about what games to get in the first place. So when you posted the question, people tried to help by finding out your hardware spec, thus being able to determine what games you could buy. The fact that you got so defensive about the comments from Mack would suggest to me you havent got a clue because if you did have a clue then you would know that it is a very valid question that Mack asked. Then when you realised that you had made a schoolboy error you tried to make everyone look silly by saying 'it was just a simple question'. So bottom line i think is to realise you havent got a clue, get a good machine, learn about computers and dont enter debates that you know nothing about.
Also seems like most people in this thread arent on your side so perhaps admit defeat and move on.

Blade, What a moron you really are. You appear to be incredibly childish with a rather over active imagination but no brains to back it up with. If you knew anything you would be dangerous.
If it makes you happy to keep making up scenarios of where i bought my machine from and what car i drive and me wearing my wifes leather gloves you carry on, sounds to me like you are a sad little boy who needs to get out more and experience real life rather than keep imagining what you think is going on. I love your passion! Your on the floor, your beaten, your hurt quite bad, your being slated left, right and centre and you keep coming back for more. In a strange way sooper.. I admire your courage. Rather than use my super "imagination" to make your life a misery... I wont on the basis that I think you've endured enough hurt for one thread. I recommend Theme Hospital as a great on line game. Not very demanding on specifications, you might want to check though to see if you can actually play online against other hospitals. Hope this helps.

Because you made it sound like you chose your laptop with gaming in mind and you mention Alienware and your are generally "giving it the big 'un" both Death and Blade would not be unjust in thinking that you had ******* a couple of g's on a laptop. Death was quite right high end laptops are not without their problems and Blade would appear to be questioning your choice due mainly to you "giving it" the MCSA ....ive got ���' s

Sooper, at 2am you just gave me the most entertainment ive had all day, (ok ive had a slow day) but anyway thank you.
I personally play battlefield 2 online and find it very good, you could also opt for battlefield 2042 which is the newest and based in the future, and therefore isnt to my liking, but if you like that kind of thing im sure its superb.

I am a bit late coming into this thread, but as a 5/6 year PC gamer I have a little knowledge of games out there that I liked.
I enjoyed Battlefield 2, but idoits as usual have killed the game for me.
I was playing Guildwars which is free intenet gaming, but unless your in a guild with others it can seem very isolating.
Forget World Of War Craft as they screw you for payment every month and it takes months of endless play hours only to be ignored by others in the game because you arent up to the magical 60 level.
SWAT 4 is a very good tactical first-person shooter and worth a good few hours of play.
Without being too rude to others in this thread, the endless crap that was spouted about your choice of computer to play on is just sad. The Mack, Death and Blade come across as the sad individuals you find quite a lot of in the world of PC gaming particularly on the internet. The Macks first notion about speed and type of Laptop you have is acceptable but he should have accepted your answer that your computer was capable of running the games your seeking and either shut up and sat down or gave you some ideas on choices he would recommend. I suspect he doesn't have a clue himself or the games he plays are rubbish.
Advice boys when asked a simple question either answer it or when given an answer to a question you ask accept it and get your heads out your respective backsides.

Babalou thanks for the comments! It was never my intention to end up in a slanging match like this and after using Answerbank for some time this is a first for me! I agree with what you have said and i think it is a bit sad that instead of just giving a few ideas of a games that are good i end up having to justify what machine i have etc etc! It was getting a bit tiresome i have to say! I think the Macks original comment was indeed a fair remark but as you say once i had said that i was sure that my machine could run any current game i thought that would be it, but oh no i couldnt have been more wrong! The idiots then turned up!

Babalou..... 5 years experience.. and that qualify's you to give more advice than anyone else does it? At the end of the day dont come into this thread "late" as you put it and start dictating! Everyones entitled to an opinion and if people feel he has wasted money on a laptop or believe they would like to know his specifications before advising games is that not good advice in itself!! WHY RECOMMEND A GAME THAT WONT RUN ON HIS LAPTOP???!! Everyone in this thread tried to help and/or offered advice until Sooper turned ungrateful. So dont come in like the knight in shining armour suggesting that the rest of us are being unreasonable. He was the one that came back and said i know it all and shut up. Sooper should of ended this thread long ago. I think its funny that you and Sooper are being wound up so much on this thread. You have come into this thread being very aggresive. i am always at the cutting edge of gaming and i know how a $hitty frame frame rate can ruin a good game and you got me Doom3 requires the same machine as f.e.a.r....

I didnt run the test as if you knew anything you would know that most reviews in decent Mags etc give you the results of the 3D Mark tests you dick, why dont you go down to WH Smiths and get yourself up to date a bit. That was why i i tried to say nicely with exclamation marks !!!!!!! that i just wanted some ideas for games and not to worry about the Hardware side of things, for most people who have a basic grasp of English i think that would be enough and they could either suggest a game or move on.

i think what your saying is you knew the score already. Oh of course you did. Doom 3 (2004) and 3dmark06 (2006) would be side by side in decent! mags in Dec 06 :) you mug!
