Hi, I am cooking boxing day dinner for my in laws and wanted a choice of 2 starters. The problem is only one of them likes fish while the other prefers meat. I was thinking of a prawn cocktail but I don't know what else to make. I wanted something light as the meal will be with all the trimmings. Any ideas??? x

Melon.....
Garlic mushrooms?
Does it have to have meat or fish?
seriously I love melon with berries.....
Grapefruit and mandarine oranges ( Tinned) is a very nice light starter and quick to prepare. Put some sugar on a dinner plate, get some red or green food colouring and put on a saucer, then put your glass on to the food colouring and then turn it round on the sugar which puts a lovely edge to your glass or dish. It dries and hardens quickly and then put your fruit into the glass, ready to serve, red looks lovely and you can add a red cherry in the middle , nice at christmas. Can be prepared hours before, one less thing to think about and not too filling either, have a nice meal.
There are loads here-with no meat or fish....happy cooking...
