Recipe for Apple Cake

Someone gave me, a few years ago, a brilliant reipe for apple cake which was like apple shortbread and didn't fall apart when it was cut.Anyone got a recipe like that as I've lost mine.
I like thne one in the Cranks rtecipe book but it doesn't easily cut into slices

Thanks for that. Looks very good. Did you read the reviews. It's quite amusing to see that 1 person added more sugar, another less, 1 forgot the spice but all rated it 5 star.
