Is it safe to store freezer jam in screwtop glass jars in the freezer? Thanks.

I would be very wary of it because the glass could shatter or the screw top could be forced off as the freezing process expands the liquid... leaving you with a very messy freezer and no jam! I would put it in something plastic personally.
Best bet is smaller, lidded polythene tubs leaving some head-space. NOT glass!

Thanks to both.I had posted because I was short of containers and was considering using glass containers. I know that liquids expand on freezing, but I had noticed that previously stored freezer jam(plastic containers) was usable straight from the freezer. The jam had not hardened, in contrast to many other items stored in the freezer. Anyway, I bought some snaptop rectangular food containers and have used them. Thanks again.
