It won;t tale long to go round the canaries, push for the Caribbean
I love cruises.........but I've only ever been with P&O. I like the 'old-fashioned' cruising with the silver service, ballroom dancing etc so go on either the Aurora or Oriana.
That sounds like a lovely thought Bobbi. No good asking me though - have never tested the waters like that.
You can get a 10 day Canaries cruise dotty...
can you? How does that work then? They're so close together.

craft that sounds ideal

P&O you say?
I've only ever been on one cruise. I was violently seasick going through the Bay of Biscay and it put me off for life.

You'll be fine though, Bobbs.
You might like Fred Olssen as I think they sail from Newcastle...
I would say yes, definitely. I have always wanted to go on a cruise but hubby doesn't fancy at all. Can I come with you?

ha-ha I really fancy the romantic 'standing on the deck. wind blowing in my hair bit. mrs c
There's a (UK based) website which is like Trip Advisor but which deals solely with cruises. Among the 50,000 reviews on the site there will almost certainly be plenty of information about the cruise company and ship which Bill is suggesting:

Jan I would love yours and Gary's company anytime

yes it does craft

Chris you are always so helpful, thank you x
Look on the P&O website and find one you fancy. Get the cruise number from there then go online to Liverpool Cruise Club (they are cruise traders) and you'll get the same cruise far cheaper with them than you would through P&O. They are excellent, we also used to book our coach down to Southampton with them.
We'll start saving Bobbi. x
Oh yes Bobbs. I can just see you and Bill in that scene from the Titanic.

(Oooerrr, not the sinking bit, honestly). :o)
Question Author
craft thanks for this, very kind of you,

Jan I think we would get along brilliantly ;0)
Well....I'm not in a position to be offered a cruise as a holiday....
But-if I was-it would not be what I would choose...cruises have just never interested me. I hate the idea of being in an enclosed space with a lot of people I may not like.
Make sure Bill is really ok with this-as you say...he's never fancied a cruise himself.
Gills Cruises at the moment are offering a cruise on the Aurora 11 nights from 1/11/2011 Classic Canaries £749 each for an inside cabin, £1049 each for a balcony. I'd go for the balcony if you can afford it. If Gills can do that price I'll lay money that Liverpool Cruise Club will undercut them.

I will Yankee, of cause
I would never go along with it bacause I wanted to, we both need to enjoy it
