Hi woodelf. Corned Beef Hash is the devil's food. I shall be asking the Ed to remove this thread asap ;-p
my mam and dad used to make a corned beef stew which was totally lush.. they used to chop a couple of onions, chop up a load of potatoes into chunks and same with the corned beef, chuck in some peas and stew in loads of beef stock. serve with crusty bread.
I used to watch my friend make corned beef hash, she made some smash then lumped a tin of corned beef in and mashed it up, it didnt look appetising..
My recipe is much the same as lotsafun has suggested though I wait until the pots and onions are par cooked before I add the corned beef, and it must be served with a helping of pickled beetroot.

TT the frying method is more American than British, though am sure it tastes good too.
sorry! But corned beef hash is not good food!.................... it's not nice!......YUk!.......
Fry onion, add cubed or roughly mashed potato, chopped corned beef and a tin of chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper. Let it get nicely browned on the bottom, turn over and lightly colour again. Enjoy with a fried egg and tom sauce. Yum.
i`ve got a lovely recipe curtsey of marks and Spencer,.soz not very helpful but i cant cook for toffee.
I put some roughly chopped spuds onto boil...throw in a stock cube or 2

fry the onions, add sweetcorn, corn beef etc to the spuds

serve with lashings of brown sauce

on a cold evening is just lush
Student gourmet made in 'halls' - boil frozen peas, add pkt of smash & loads of butter, tin corned beef & seasoning. Slop out into all plates tendered, with bread & butter to stretch further :)
Why do you wany corned-beef hash? Have you run out of pot-noodle sandwiches?
Sorry Jack, but, still, not good food!...........Horrid!.....
I like the look of marie's recipe at the moment
Same as lotsafun and Mamya served with Yorkshire Puddings. yum

I chop corned beef into some mashed potato and par cooked onions and peas stir together and use as filling Cornish pasties,
large tin of corned beef
2 onions chopped
4 carrots diced
5 large potatoes diced
dash of tomato ketchup or brown sauce
put all the above in large pan with water, not too much, you can always add more if its too thick.
cook on low heat for about an hour at least, keep stirring so that the potatoes break up a bit and makes the gravy thicker.
even better if you have a slow cooker,(which are fantastic for all in one meals) put the contents of the hot hash into the cooker on low and leave it all day. even if you go to work.
this will make more than enough for 2
No! sorrry, but cotned beef hash is not good food, it's nasty, I would never cook it or eat it!...........Nasty rubbish!.....we need to eat good food!......this is not good food!.......
welsh, dont take me wrong but you have said the same thing 3 times now
''pot-noodle sandwiches?''

Ahh... memories of student days...
Saute a large chopped onion with a 1 or 2 parboiled potatoes that have been chopped in 1/2" dice. When onions are translucent, add the corned beef....continue to stir and fry. When it is all blended together, flatten a bit,and cook until brown. Flip over, and cook other side. Serve with sliced pickled beetroot....never thought I would like the beetroot but was convinced by a Northern friend.
