Just been Supermarket and strawberries are £1 99 and that is half price. I am sure I would not pay neary £4 for the same amount. Why do they make you think you are getting a bargain.

A lot are tasteless and hard, too.
English always seem to be best.
Go picking!
i watched some report somewhere that said before they "half price" things they put it up in the preceeding weeks, not sure if its true but i wouldn't pay £4!

Nearest place for picking is about 14 miles and last time I went they were all on tables and you had to pick from there . Not the same as fun in the fields lol
I have one word - strawberry flavour jelly beans !
Question Author
Yes they are nice lol along with the others mentioned
I've just bought a punnet for £1.49 on Chorley Market, they are superb and I am waiting for them to chill and then having them with ice cream

My grandson is here tonight too and I have promised to show him the Space Station too and so can you do a reminder if you are about later please?
Question Author

Should be good view as it will be low in the sky 4 minute view.
Look forward to that Wendilla. On the strawberry thing I suppose people take it in and it tempts them to buy when they wouldn't normally. Same as sun-lotion - ever not seen it 2 for the price of one?
as an aside to strawberries - what's this about the space station? which direction are we supposed to look in and will it be instantly recognisable rather than just looking like a star or planet? not heard anything about this at all, am rather intrigued :)
Wendilla has been telling us when the space station flies over UK for months. At 11 tonight look lowish in the sky towards south and you will see it go over roughly travelling east. It will look like a very large bright star crossing the sky. If it's clear and you're up try to have a look ethandron, quite a sight.

wow, thanks prudie and kawakiri, will defo try and spot it tonight.
So much for the strawberries then.
I am eating Tesco half price ones just now. I would never pay £4 for them, but £1.99 is fine. They have blueberries too - got them in the fridge.

I think that the supermarkets know that we are cynical about their pricing policies, but as long as the goods are reasonably priced I buy them.
And - mine are Scottish.
I agree, a lot of advertising now is pretty much false. It annoys me that they can advertise stuff like shampoo and mascara on tv using 'inserts' - how are you supposed to know how the product works if they fake it!
Mine are English, only £1 from Asda, although the OH put some in the trolley in M&S during the week "half price" £2.99. I indulged him that one they were lovely but only strawberries when all said and done. The pick your own fields are doing well around here.
I agree wendilla. I bought a punnet today from Waitrose. Supposedly half price at £1.99. They were very bitter and tasteless. [:o(
