As a rule I never buy anything for cooking that I wouldn't drink (so that rules out meths but not much else).

If you recork it (invert the cork and push it back in) or put the lid back on, it could keep for several months.

Although what I would know about actually keeping wine, rather than drinking it you can write on a stamp in felt tip.
if you are not planning on drinking it then the best think to do is make ice cubes from it so you can throw into future recipes as required :)
Have you opened it?

Weeks as far as I'm concerned....(hours in reality)
Ummmm... I saw this in the recent posts and I guessed I'd find you here. lol

yes i have opened it,theres about three quarters of a bottle,i put the lid on tight and kept it in the fridge, that was 3 weeks ago.
Leave it until you need it. If it tastes like vinegar sling it otherwise use it!
slinky - throw it - no good now esp at £3.99 a chuck.

If you make ice cubes when you first opened it then that would be fine, but not now.

btw - ice cubes are a Delia Smith thing - its not something I made up - cos I never have any left over wine!
