I am planning a meal of Roast Beef for 100+. I want to roast it and slice it cold. What weight would I need giving each person only 1 slice I realise this depends on the size of the slices, but on average please? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. B.

According to this, an average portion is 75-100gm cooked weight. I don't know how much the weight of a joint changes from raw to cooked...but at least this gives you something to work from.

Thank you pastafreak, that is very useful
OMG how brave are you xx
I would think a 500g raw weight would give a hefty slice for 4-5 people when cooked and cooled. The smaller the joint, the more it shrinks so you can reduce the shrinkage margin if you use bigger joints.
Why not buy it ready cooked/ sliced from your local catering suppliers or cash and carry, saves alot of hastle.
