Our old New World gas hob electric igniton gave up the ghost some years back, & despite me cleaning all the electrical contacts, battery housing & burners, refuses to work. I use a small cigarette lighter but She Who Must Be Obeyed moans about getting singed. We`ve had the wand-like piezo lighters (cheapo ones) - useless. Can anyone recommend a model that actually does the bizzo please.

Brabantia products are usually of good quality (and you get a 5 year guarantee):

Personally, I find that a box of matches does the job just as well ;-)

Thanks Chris, that looks the business, I`ll get one ASAP. In the meantime I`ll try & find a box of extra long "Cooks Matches". Mind you, She won`t be told not to have the gas set too high when lighting!
I got a small one from Lakeland, only about 2 something. It is very good and easy to use
I find the Brabantia ones too hard to use, as I have arthritis
