Wolf Blass Yellow Label. Nice Aussie red for around 7-8
Blossom Hill White Zinfandel is a ros wine - around 4.25. It's gorgeous.
Quality control by supermarkets is excellent and all the wines are decent. There is a huge range of wines at under 10. So it all comes down to what you prefer.

.

If you are open to new experiences, pick a wine at random, read the back label and if it sounds OK, buy it. Start with wines around the 5 mark, so if you don't like it, you are not too much out of poclet. Better still, select six different wines, form different countries and/or grape varieties. You'll get a 5% discount at checkout. Note which ones you like most, then in future you'll have something to base future buying on.

JACOBS CREEK Y DONT U TRY HOCK
I second scubadiver's choice - WolfBlass is excelent, and great value. I generally get it for about 6. The WolfBlass Chardonnay is even better, if white is of interest.
Safeways sell an Australian red called Durif @ 4.99. I love it!
White Grenache is a beautiful rose wine for around 5
