Cheeky monkeys - a question for you. Would braised peas with lentils and bacon dressed with lemon juice and mint be an acceptable accompaniment to poached chicken with tomato and mascarpone sauce? It's the minty lemoniness of the braised peas against the tomatoey cheesiness of the sauce that makes me fret. I look forward to your thoughts...

The menu sound nice, but like you, the lemoness and the tomatoey cheese sauce, I would think it would clash.

Maybe if the chicken was in just tomato sauce or a different sauce, it would be better.
I would leave the chicken as it is, and dress the lentils, peas and bacon in something garlicky. Really don't like the idea of mint and lemon with bacon. The garlic would go much better with the creamy mascarpone, which is rather sweet.
Sorry, but it sounds absolutely dreadful.... too much acidic stuff there.. you are right to fret !

Yeah, I thought it might not go - that's why I asked the question. What would you suggest as an accompaniment Jugglering??
I would have some fresh green beans and some sweet grilled cherry tomatoes, and crispy potato wedges or pan fried small diced potatoes slowly cooked with olive oil and seasoning!!!!
