i have just bought a tesco version of the above. I cooked the kids some burgers the other night and burnt them to a crisp! I had no idea they would cook so quickly.
Unfortunately, as it's only a cheap version, it doesn't come with any recipes. How long would it take to cook:
chicken breasts
sausage
salmon steak?
I would appreciate you're advice x

has it not got a manual. I did sausages 6 mins each side lastnight on meduim heat
You just really have to keep checking

so you cooked them for 12 mins altogether? Do you have to turn them then?
It does ahve a manual but only how to switch it on and clean it.
just keep an eye on it,turn the sausags or burger once just so they brown all round. i love my george foreman,i cook most stuff on it,chicken, bacon, sausages, sardines but any thing with bread crumbs dont seem to work, but things in batter do. plus a cheese toastie is good on there too.
I find that halving the suggested cooking time generally works.
On the rare occasion I have burgers (big quarter pound frozen) instructions say grill for about 20 mins and I find they take about 9 minutes.

That's all really helpful, thank you. So if i wanted a rare steak that i would normally cook for 4 minutes each side would you say 2 minutes each side?
does it have a lid, like a George Foreman? if so, you don't need to turn the food as it cooks both sides (top and bottom) at the same time, hence halving the usual grilling time.

I guess if you're doing sausages you may want to do a quarter turn to evenly brown them.
i used to find my GF burnt everything to a crisp without cooking the middle - i just used to not put the lid down eventually and i found that worked (you do have to turn them over though)
You shouldn't need to turn your food as this style of grill appiies top and bottom heat, were a fry pan only heats from the bottom, so you would be right to half your normal cooking times
