Hey all,

Just wondering what pasta sauces you guys like?

Me and my fella both love pasta and sauce with different things in (like sweetcorn, bacon, onion) but we always seem to end up having tomato and basil sauce!

Looking for some varieties please, or even other things to try adding.

One thing, I can not stand carbonara sauce!!

Salmon and cream is lovely, with lots of pepper. Bolognese remains my favourite though!

My fella made me a gorgeous sauce once using a tin of mediteranean soup, soooooo good!

I have just had pasta in lloyd grossmans tomato and basil sauce with chopped up frankfurters, sweetcorn and a mound of cheese on top!

Yummmmmm!
arribata is quite spicy made with chilli also, puttenesca is a tomato sauce with black olives added!!!

Oh, we like spicey, although not too spicey!

And as for olives, my better half would like that one, but I dont like them!
This sounds gross initially, but trust me it is delicious, nutritious, easy to male and very economical.

Pasta
Tin of tuna
Condensed mushroom soup. (has to be condensed)

Cook pasta.

Warm up soup and tuna gently.

Stir in cooked pasta

Add plenty of black pepper.

Trust me it is beautiful
*max is wondering how to engage in a political science debate in a thread about pasta sauce*
condensed soups are excellent bases, used to do a delicous mushroom and garlic sauce with condensed soup xtra mushrooms and garlic topped over lightly browned pork chops or chicken and baked in the oven till cooked ummmmmmm!!!!
I am a bit concerned about the sauce that Abdul has posted as being *easy to male and very economical*... I have no idea what easy to male means but it sounds a bit scary .... heyhey...

I simply finely chop an onion, a couple of cloves of garlic, two sticks of celery and then add some spices (smoked paprika, black pepper etc), a can of chopped toms, another canful of water, a teaspoon each of salt and sugar (yep !!!!) and some fresh shredded basil (or dried basil if need be)... Let it chatter away to itself, then either mash or whizz up in the processor. Gorgeous poured over simply cooked pasta and a few pine nuts & chunks of mozzy cheese. Easy peasy and can be frozen or left for reheating the following night..
you should have a go at making your own tomato sauce, wiggal. It's very quick and easy.
I make a big batch and freeze in portions. If you make a basic one, you can then add the other bits when defrosting -- basil, olives, peppers, tuna, chilli, the possibilities are endless!
