Beetroot !!!!!!!!!!

Help !!
What am I gonna do for my fix !!

There is a shortage (meaning none) of beetroot due to last years flooding ruining crops -so that mean we wont get it next year either.

Not one shop had any -well apart from Tescos who only had 2 jars of Polish left -thats it.

Bleeding Global Warming and of course Gordon Brown MUST be held accountable as well - I for one wont vote Labour again -so there -its all went t!ts up since they came into power -this is the last straw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But its p!ssing down -hence the lack of beetroot fom last year for pickling in sweet vinegar this year lol

I bought a couple of (sealed) packs of cooked beetroot last week from Tesco's... They have a shelf life of until some time in November (due to the seal & packaging etc), so currently they are residing in a plastic bowl inside their packaging on the top shelf of my fridge. I get cravings for beetroot every now and then, so they are simply waiting for my next craving to kick in, lol...

Or are you referring to the pickled beetroot ? If so, get away, that is the food of the devil lol.. (I don't like food in vinegar hehe).

Just cook beetroot ..then slice it when cold ...
put it in layers in clingwrap in a box and freeze ..
better than pickled ...you can also do it with
the vacuum packed ....

Hey Juggle -thats what the woman in Tescos told me to do -I need a nightly fix -it has to be Baxters Baby Beet in Sweet vinegar tho -well I have to make sacrifices I suppose.I I immerge in in vinegar do you think I would get the same kinda flavour if I added some sugar to it? (Seriously).

theonlyone -there isnt any beetroot thats the problem -think its just hit us (in Scotland) first -watch and see -I would have panic bought if i'd bleeding known -dagnabbit !!!!

Awaiting an EMail from Tescos for their official line -will post and i am laughing as I post this cos I didnt think I would ever post on the shortage of betroot-bog roll yeah -beetroot no !!

Seriously -tho who would have thought it and seriously peeps are speaking about it up here -I know we are saddos but it takes the heat off the Eastern European insurgents for a wee while -lol x

Dris... I simply don't like vinegar so I've never tried anything in that mix... I think it might work though, so give it a try ! Nothing tried, nothing gained, eh ?
