I can buy 2 big carrier bags full of stuff from my local greengrocers for about 7 which is definitely cheaper than the local supermarkets. Some of the imported fruit is about the same price though.
I use the local greengrocer and the farmers
market for fruit n veg and local honey ...
fresher, cheaper , better for the enviroment ..
take your own bag ..
i agree with the above posts, the fruit you 'll get from the greengrocers will have taste to it. many times fruit ive bought from many of thr above supermarkets is bland. as someone said imported, --picked too early to be transported to appear on the shelves. all year round.
what radiogaga said. There is no comparison. local stuff tastes like the stuff u find on the continent. Supermarkets are a disgrace, especially given the prices they charge.
I'm moving to where you lot live then- because I've tried doing my bit for the local community shopping and bought fruit and veg from the greengrocers instead of Asda and I was poleaxed at their prices- never again, I'll be sticking to Asda and their offers from now on.

Same with local butchers and their meats.
