out of date slimfast

I have slimfast (in powder form) with a BBE date of april 2005, some of them are opened, one is unopened. Will they be safe for consuming?

3 years ago. I wouldn't have thought so. Try mixing some up and see if it's any different from the in date stuff!!

I'd say the unopened ones would be OK but not the others, the powder itself may well be OK but you never know what might have been in there in the mean time.

Any nutrients or nourishment would have seriously depleted by now, so although they probably won't do you any harm, they wont be giving you the vitamins, minerals, etc that was once in them

mercia is bang on! The taste will be blander, and they are supposed to provide you with nutrients, these will probably have all but gone by now. If you are planning on using this as a diet again, then I would go and get fresh you dont want to end up with malnutrition.
