watching bb last night carol said she was going to make some stuffing so she toasted slices of bread and strated grating it - she was there for hours grating toast - is this normal?!! i just chop up the bread, grate some carrotts (sometimes) and finley chop onions - mix it together with some herbs, dot some butter on top and drizzle a little meat juice/fat from the roast and bake it - easy! how do you make yours?

the same but without the carrots btw do the carrots add more flavouring ???????
ditto, but with the addition of finely chopped apple and celery, and a beaten egg to bind it.
don't you use Sausage meat ? its lovely
i add sausage meat at christmas as a special treat. i try to keep the fat content down for it as an every-day type stuffing. i agree, it is lovely though.

so no one spends hours grating toast then?!! thank god for that - yes grated carrot makes it taste even more savoury i think especially with pork - i like just plain sausage meat and stuffing seperate!
If you bread is dry enough, you can throw it in the food processor - pulse it for a moment a few times and you have bread crumbs.
