Hi I have already posted this in travel but without much response so am trying here now. Has anyone had any recent dealings with this holiday club as I have just joined on a trial membership and have since only read bad things on it but the main thing people were slagging off was the points system and what I have bought doesn't involve this.

unfortunately sunterra gvc is no longer affiliated to thomas cook and appears to be one of the con type holiday cklubs you get in tenerife.

check here for info on dodgey timeshare and holiday clubs

click on news then scroll down.
if yours is there( andd it is )it usually means its a dodgey company and should be avoided.

hope you didnt spend too much and it works out ok for you.
heres a link to a scottish website for disgruntled sunterra customers.

after some reading it vappears this is indeed a con holiday club and a waste of money.

sorry to be the nbearer of bad news .

but i have heard some horror stories heree in the reef.

some folk spoend between 4000 and 13000 quid.
We have been members of Sunterra (was GVC) for over 5 years now, and have nothing but praise for them. We started on the explorer pack, but soon became fully fledged members.
We have 2-3 holidays a year in superb accommodation, have taken friends / family with us at no extra cost.
You'll always get scare stories, but I'm more than happy with our membership.

thanks so much for your positive answer joan! It is a relief to hear something good. Have you ever had trouble getting the holiday you want and have the flights been reasonable?
The most popular resorts get booked up fast, so best to do well in advance, we usually go for whatever's available.
Same with flights, it's being in the right place right time.

Resorts we usually book 10 - 12 months in advance and flights 6 months. never had a problem yet. All the reps are extremely helpful and answer any questions honestly.
