Hi there. i am about 4 weeks pregnant and i found out 2 days ago. to say i was shocked is an understatement, but me and my partner are both happy about it anyway. This is my first, and im not exactly worried, just more a little concerned that there are things i should be doing to keep healthy etc.
any advice??

congratulations!
welcome to the club, i am 15 weeks pregnant with my second!
i would defo advise to start taking folic acid suppliments, why not pop to your doctors who if like mine is really helpfull and may be able to give you some info/leaflets!
take it easy as the first 13 weeks can really take it out of you!
all the best!

thanks!
i havent seen the doctor yet as they said it was too early to do anything else for me but i should ring up to see the midwife in about 2 weeks.
i just read other posts and got a bit scared as one said she did two tests but the doctor said it was negative.... gave me whole new worries!
lol.... is that hormones, making me think irrationally? cos i have been really stressy n cry at stupid things like last night when the pizza shop got the order wrong ha ha. oh dear!
congratulations. Folic acid a deffinate and just do normal things and nothing in excess. Our doc just sort of sends you to the midwife at 10 weeks as they dont do much till then. If a test is positive then it is positive. The hormone changes in the first few weeks are massive and they do level off so hang in there but i was quite irrational at times so dont worry just keep blaming it on the hormones!!!

Dont know if you seen this one but redcrx has some good tips for early stages.
Congrats!
Folic acid is very important at the 4-6 week period, and indeed the entire first trimester. It prevents birth defects such as spina bifida.
Oh and try not to worry that your baby is going to fall out. That is my big (and irrational) fear at the moment.!!

good luck, its going to be fun!

ha ha fall out?? no that was never my worry bless you. :-) (and yeah, ive been pretty irrational too though!)
my only worry is only the same worry every other pregnant woman has, the worry of losing it. but ive come to the conclusion that me stressing will only increase the chance of that so im now taking it day by day and not stressing too much.
